#EndSARS: Youths protest grounds activities in Benue
Makurdi, the headquarters of Benue State was grounded due to the ENDSARS protest that saw the youths trooped to the streets in the capital on Saturday.
Even as the EndSARS protests were ongoing across the country, Benue
youths gathered at the IBB Square, Makurdi, and marched en-route the high level through some strategic streets of the state capital.
Undeterred by anything, they moved in large numbers through the Railway Market before heading to the Police Headquarters with some protesters lying down on major roads.
As a result, vehicular movements were seriously impeded with some commuters fearing hoodlums attack.
In their solidarity songs, and placards, the youth demands: ”
“End Police brutality”, “The Service Chiefs must go”, “Restructure Nigeria” and “Give us jobs”.
Other inscriptions read, “We deserve better”, “Secure Nigeria” and “Fix Nigeria” among others.
Also, it’s been hectic for residents in Abuja for the past weeks due to ENDSARS protesters which has rocked the major parts of the country demanding an end to Police brutality of citizens.
In Abuja, airport road was blocked from 3.00pm throughout the day with vehicles in complete gridlock on Friday. While in the course of battling with traffic, some vehicle broke down due to excessive radiator heat with mechanics trying to fix those vehicles.
CAPITAL POST observed that some vehicles could’nt leave the airport road traffic until the following morning.
