Ojo’s emergence as Clerk to NASS, a dawn of new beginning – Northern Parliamentary Group
The appointment and confirmation of the new Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Architect Amos Olatunde Ojo is a new wave of good governance and development, Northern Parliamentary Group has said.
NPG in a statement through its protem Chairman, Mohammed Jaji says payment of salaries regularly, allowances of both lawmakers and their aides which began recently was a pointer to good things to come .
The group commended the payment of first 28 days one and half year after assumption of the 9th Senate, while plans to offset other allowances like Housing, Duty Travel Allowances (DTA), arears of salaries statutorily due to aides of National Assembly members, will encourage positive inputs on the part of lawmakers.
Jaji urged the Clerk to the National Assembly to do more to assist in the management of the 9th Assembly by the Federal lawmakers.
Aside aides of Federal lawmakers, he said, Ojo has also put in place efforts to place staffers of the Assembly in a good stead, by rewarding hardwork, dilligence and incorruptible tendencies.
Some sources that pleaded for anonymity confirm the ascension of the new Clerk as a departure from misgovernance witnessed in the last five years.
