Shehu Sani condemns shaving of young men’s hair by Kano religious group
Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani has strongly condemn the shaving of young men’s hair by Kano State Islamic religious Hisbah group.
The Hisbah group is an Islamic religious arm controlled by Kano State government in enforcing Islamic doctrines in the State.
The ex-lawmaker and Civil Rights activist was reacting to reports that young men in Kano State were being shaved off of their hair which is considered unislamic by the Hisbah group.
In a strong worded statement which he personally signed and made available to CAPITAL POST on Monday, Sani wondered how the state sponsored group could only target the young and the poor, but hyper-regarded the rich even in their self righteousness.
The statement urged Hisbah to stand against terrorist groups ravaging the country and other forms of criminality.
He said: “The Shaving of Young men’s hair by the religious Hisbah group is condemnable.
“The puritanical and self righteous Hisbah has became a toxic and delirious monster targeting the minute crime of the poor and blind to the mega crime of the rich and the powerful.
“In a region ravaged by the scourge and violence of terrorists and bandits,Hisbah should have the courage to stand up to them rather than beheading the ant with the Sword.
“The Hisbah is roasting the poor and revering the rich. The Hisbah should shave the establishment larceny within their precinct and not the hair”, he concluded.
