NCPC boss mourns murder of traditional ruler, victims of attack in Plateau
The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) Rev. Yakubu Pam is saddened by the devastating news of the gruesome murder of another traditional ruler in Plateau State.
The recent murder of the Acting Gwom Rwei of Foron in Barkin Ladi Local Government of Plateau State Da Bulus Chuwang Janka by assailants suspected to be herdsmen is another attempt by enemies of peace to frustrate Government efforts at promoting peace and unity.
In a statement signed by Mr Celestine Toruka Head of Media Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), the Executive Secretary described the murder as man’s inhumanity to man.
The District Head was murdered in his residence in Rasat, Foron of Barkin Ladi LGA. The Executive Secretary is particularly saddened because of the series of peace building engagements the NCPC has championed in Southern Kaduna, Plateau and other parts of the country and the strategic role of traditional rulers.
The Executive Secretary joins other peace loving and well-meaning Nigerians in calling on security agencies to defend our traditional leaders and innocent citizens of Nigeria.
”No stone should be left unturned by the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators and put an end to these senseless killings.
Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary has sent his condolences to the State Governor, His Excellency Hon. Simon Lalong, His Royal Majesty the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman of the Plateau State Joint Traditional Council, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, and Management Committee the Chairman of Barkin Ladi LGA.
