NBA Ilorin Human Rights Committee, NSCDC, differ over alleged human rights violation in Kwara
The Ilorin branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the State have differed on human violations allegedly by the has condemned the alleged human rights violation by the NBA Human Rights Committee.
The NBA complained that overzealous corps has resolved to take up the matter and ensure that the officers involved are brought to book, serving as a deterrent to other security agents.
On November 8, 2024, more than 20 senior officers of the NSCDC, led by the State Commandant, were said to have stormed the office of the chairman of NBA.
The Civil Defence Corps Commandant condemned the actions of his men, promising to identify and punish them accordingly. He requested that the chairman allow him to handle the matter internally.
