Tax Reform Bills never a threat to any part of Nigeria – Senator Neda
Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, Imasuen Neda has thrown his weight behind the controversial Tax Reform Bills, stressing that there was no need for skepticism anywhere.
Speaking with journalists at the National Assembly on Monday, the lawmaker insisted that the Bills did not constitute threat or poses manipulation of any zone as being bandied about in some of sections of the country.
He said Tax Reform Bill was long overdue, even as it play a major role in our national economy there is a need for the reform so it can meet present day reality”
According to Imasuen, “there are many loopholes in our tax law and so we cannot get the best if we continue to do the same thing at all times”.
He maintained that the reform was a “wake up call to our governors to look for the means to increase their revenue to enable them to have more money to meet the needs of their state.”
Senator Imasuen further stated that the tax reform bill encourage healthy competition among the state, believing that all States in the country is blessed with mineral resources but not properly utilized, insisting that the current reality will wake it up.
