NCPC to introduce 3-days orientation for intending pilgrims

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam has said that the Commission would introduce a three day orientation for intending pilgrims during the December general pilgrimage exercise to Israel, Rome and Greece.

He disclosed this recently at the stakeholders Pilgrimage Summit held in Jalingo, Taraba state.

Rev. Pam explained that the three days orientation would be an awareness to aid in curbing the abscondment of pilgrims as well as changing the mind set of Nigerians about leaving our father land to another country to seek greener pasture.

In his words,”Christian should contribute positively in the development of the country and not to tear it down”.

Rev. Pam explained that the Commission anticipates an increase in the number of pilgrims during this years general pilgrimage in December as the Commission is working tirelessly to achieve this.

He seeks the prayer and support of Church Leaders to encourage their congregations to sponsor and support Christian pilgrimge.

The NCPC boss disclosed that the cost of pilgrimage has been reduced to encourage Christians participate in the pilgrimage exercise.

The Executive Secretary urged Christians who are financially buoyant to sponsor those who are not because according to him, “pilgrimage gives spiritual and supernatural encounter to the Christians.”

Rev. Pam admonished Church Leaders to preach the importance of pilgrimage to their congregation, “one of the ways Christians can enjoy the dividend of our democracy is through the pilgrimage exercise”.

The NCPC scribe commended the Taraba state government for its continuous support and sponsorship of Christians to the holy land.
He urged Christians not to be discouraged in the face of their challenges “as the Lord is with the Church'”.

Earlier, the Taraba State Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) who is also the Chairman of Taraba State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Rev. Isaiah Magaji appreciated the Executive Secretary and his team for visiting the state.

He commended the work of the Executive Secretary in building peace in the troubling States in the north and the country at large. He said the state is glad to have him and also thanked him for his support for the state.

He explained that the contributions of the Executive Secretary in Peace keeping and National development in Nigeria would not go unnoticed.

The theme of the Stakeholders Meeting is Christian Pilgrimage, Peace Building and National Development.
