Taraba Senator empowers constituents with 500 laptops
The Senator representing Taraba Central Senatorial District, Manu Haruna, has organized a two-day Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training program for students across three Local Government Areas in the district.
The intensive program aimed to empower students within his constituency.
The program, which concluded on Thursday, included the distribution of over 500 laptops to participants.
The distribution was facilitated by the Senator’s representatives and the Taraba State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Usman Aruwa. The initiative left the students excited and better equipped for the future.
The Senator urged the beneficiaries to embrace ICT, highlighting its global significance.
He stated, “The entire exercise is to prepare the beneficiaries for the proposed Taraba State Technology Village being championed by Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas.
You are here today as beneficiaries of Senator Manu’s sponsored program, which serves as a foundation for the Technology Village project. I encourage you to leverage this training to empower yourselves and contribute to technological advancement in Taraba.”
Hon. Veronica Alhassan, a member of the Taraba State House of Assembly representing Bali 1 Constituency, also addressed the students. She praised Senator Manu’s initiative and encouraged participants to use the opportunity to better themselves and inspire others in their communities.
The training sessions were conducted at multiple venues: C2C Event Centre in Gassol Local Government, Camp View in Bali and Kurmi Local Governments, as well as Sardauna and Gashaka Local Governments, all located in the state capital, Jalingo.
This program follows a previous empowerment initiative by Senator Manu, where over 1,000 constituents benefitted from starter packs to support their vocational pursuits.
