Kogi Democratic Group KDG, has appealed to the US not only to clampdown on election riggers in Kogi through visa ban, but compensate victims of those killed through violent attacks and contestants who lost valuables protecting the sanctity of democratic practice.

A statement issued by Abdul Abdul also asked the European Union, United Arab Emirates to extend similar gestures to victims of the last November charade, so as to mitigate the effects of the ugly development in the last Kogi Governorship election.

Change of Name

Abdul urged the super powers to use this opportunity to discourage and dislodge those who believe in using force to annex powers without the consent of the people.

He says this position could be reached by granting free Visa and travels to the US of the victims/families, opposition party candidate of PDP in the last election in Kogi, some members who played prominent roles in ensuring good governance, so as to enable them relive confidence in a democratic practice, and discourage hooligans from the corridors of democratic rules.

Aside the visa ban, this will encourage Kogites in future participation in any elections in Kogi state, as the last experience had discouraged many Nigerians, that votes will not count from Kogi experience.

Abdul says this is the only way to also encourage the tenets of democracy and democratic practice as being propagated by the US, EU, UAE and other developed countries.

He urged the super powers to urgently consider this suggestions and declare the light day day victims of Kogi elections as ‘Heroes of Nigeria Democracy’

The group commends the UN for listening to the plights of ordinary Nigerians, and quest to install peoples choice, not minding the ugly development in the last Kogi election.
