Insecurity: Nasarawa governor urges security agents to sustain onslaught against bandits, terrorists

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has charged security agencies operating in the state on the need to sustain the successes recently recorded in fight against banditry and kidnappings in Toto Local Government Area of the state.

He gave the charge during an expanded security meeting holding at the Government House, on Tuesday.

Sule applauded the security agents, especially the military supported by the police, Civil Defence and Department of State Security, over the recent dislodging of terrorists in Toto LGA, as well as the capture of over 400 members of their families.

The Governor, however, pointed out that there is need to sustain the successes so far recorded.

“You have recorded huge successes. Such feat is one thing and sustaining it is another. He said.

The Governor maintained that the meeting was to ensure that the administration sustains those successes already recorded.

Sule used the opportunity of the meeting to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for the support given to the security agencies which led to the successes thus achieved.

He equally condoled with the officers and men of the Federal Roads Safey Corps (FRSC) over the recent incidence leading to the demise of two officers.

He expressed appreciation to members of the security council for their continued support, stressing that while more tests are being conducted, Nasarawa continues to record less positive cases of the pandemic.

Speaking on coronavirus pandemic, he said: “Let me express satisfaction that with the fall in number of positive cases, the people of the state are beginning to take measures to protect themselves against COVID-19.
