Northern Senators  Forum felicitates with General Yakubu Gowon at 90

The Northern Senators Forum, NSFon Friday congratulated General Dr. Yakubu Gowon, former Head of State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on his 90th birthday.

In a statement by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, Chairman of the NSF, the Forum described General Gowon as a visionary leader whose dedication to Nigeria’s unity and progress has left an indelible mark on the nation’s history.

“General Gowon’s leadership played a crucial role in guiding Nigeria into a new era after the civil war, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to peace and stability,”

“His legacy continues to inspire and guide our nation, and we are grateful for his selfless service to Nigeria.”

Highlighting Gowon’s achievements, the forum recalled the creation of states in 1967, replacing the existing regional arrangement.

“Establishing institutions like the National Youth Service Corps, promoting unity and national integration among Nigerian youths.

“General Gowon’s wisdom and experience continue to be a beacon of hope for our country,” Senator Yar’adua added.

“We pray that he continues to enjoy good health and that his insight remains a guiding force for Nigeria’s progress.”

The Northern Senators Forum wishes General Gowon many more years of good health, happiness, and continued service to Nigeria.
