The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam has said that the Commission would promote youth pilgrimage to Israel.
The NCPC boss made the disclosure in Abuja recently while receiving in audience the executive members of the Ecumenical Youth Association who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The No 1 Christian Pilgrim Officer of the Federation averred that the Youth pilgrimage to Israel would help to expose the youths to skill acquisition and other meaningful opportunities that would add value to their lives at the end of their Holy pilgrimage exercise in Israel.
He assured them that the Commission would collaborate with the Association in view of its laudable objectives. He further hinted that NCPC would continue to serve as a veritable platform to unite all Christians in Nigeria.
The NCPC helmsman stressed that by virtue of the mandate of the Commission which regulates the activities of Christian pilgrimage in Nigeria and also supervises and coordinates the movement of Christians from Nigeria to Israel and other Holy Sites around the world which presupposes that the Commission is in a better stead to unite every one as it takes Christians to Israel where our Lord Jesus Christ had His ministry on earth.
He emphasized that NCPC would continue to play pivotal role in uniting the body of Christ in Nigeria.
Rev.Pam commended the association for championing the cause of ecumenism in the church which he opined had been a Long time issue.To this effect,he charged the church and Christians to deemphasise denomination and see the church as one entity of the body of Christ.
Earlier, the President of the Ecumenical Youth Association Mr Daboikiabo Warmate congratulated Rev Pam on behalf of his executive members for a well deserved appointment. He described his association as” a body of Christian youths across Nigeria”.
Mr Warmate highlighted the three Cardinal objectives of the association which are promoting unity in the body of Christ by deemphasising on denominations , promoting Christian values as well as promoting Christian interest.
