Governor Mutfwang takes step to develop Plateau tourism sector, regain lost glory – says Commissioner
Plateau State Commissioner of information and Communication as well as overseeing Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Hospitality Hon. Musa Ashoms has disclosed that the PDP Administration in the state under the Leadership of Governor Caleb Mutfwang has taken drastic steps to repositioned the tourism sector in the state.
Ashoms said apart from Governor Mutfwang commitment to the development of the tourism sector in the state and harnessing the rich tourism and cultural heritage of the state, has pledge to redeem the state names as the home of Peace and Tourism.
The Commissioner while speaking with journalists in Jos on Sunday said the widely Celebrated 2024 world Tourism Day in Jos, the Plateau State capital on 27th September is an indication that the state has bounced back as the home of Peace and Tourism.
Ashoms added that the present administration led by Governor Caleb Mutfwang intends to leverage the state’s tourism potential for economic growth, with emphasis on collaboration with the public and private sectors.
“Governor Caleb Mutfwang is taking bold steps to revitalize Plateau State’s tourism sector and reclaim its lost glory. He has been engaging with various stakeholders, including international partners. to discuss potential collaborations in infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and agriculture.
This partnership could lead to improved roads, enhanced healthcare facilities, and upgraded educational institutions, making Plateau State a more attractive destination for tourists.

“The Leader of the time is now aims is to restore Plateau State’s former glory and establish it as a thriving tourist destination. This will create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage.
It would be recalled that Plateau State celebrated World Tourism Day 2024, themed “Tourism and Peace,” with a series of vibrant events organized by the Plateau State Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality.
The celebrations, which highlight the global significance of tourism, showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage with performances with Berom dancers at the Jos Museum, Afizere Asharuwa dancers at Shere Hill, and the Plateau State Cultural Group at Secretariat Roundabout.
The grand finale was held at Jos Wildlife Park, followed by an entertainment Interchange at Tuduwada Hill Grill, which bring together creatives, content creators, photographers, and chefs.
