PDP Congress: Wike threatens ‘brimstone and fire’ for any governor working to take Rivers party structure from him
The former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has vowed not to allow any governor to take away structure of the Peoples Democratic Party from him in Rivers.
He threatens political turmoil in any State for any PDP governor who tried to interfere with Rivers PDP structure with the aim of taking it away from him.
Wike was reacting to meeting of PDP Governors in Taraba State on August 23, where it was discussed on how to solve the party crisis in Rivers State, while reiterating theier resolve to support Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration in Rivers.
In a communique from the meeting of governors, the Chairman of the forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed take the party for a review of the party congress outcome to restore Fubara’s leadership role in the state.

While speaking at the PDP Rivers State Secretariat on Saturday in Portharcourt on Saturday during the party’s congress, Wike threatening ‘brimstone and fire’ urged PDP governors to stay away from Rivers, insisting that the Rivers PDP has no issues.
He said, “Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of PDP from us. But let me tell people, I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give back to somebody.
“I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see you take.
“Because I heard they got some money from a signature bonus, and so their heads are getting big that you will put a hand in my own state. Prepare because I have the capacity to also do the same thing in your own state.
“Whether you are from Bauchi, I don’t give a damn, whichever state you are from, as far as I know, that you are trying to put yourself in Rivers State, your hand will get burnt, and you will never sleep in your state.”
Rivers State Governor Siminalaya Fubara and Nyesom Wike have been at war after the fallout between Wike and his predecessor.
Fubara was absent at the congress.
