Insecurity: Kidnappers strike in Bwari community, kill one, abduct four

Again, tragedy struck in Bwari Area Council, FCT Abuja, in the early hours Friday, August 30, 2024 as daredevil kidnappers invaded Tudun-Fulani Newsite quarters, killed one and abducted four.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident lasted for about an hour.

The kidnappers stormed the community, shooting sporadically. A local vigilante group attempted to confront them but was overpowered by the kidnappers’ superior firepower, an eyewitness revealed.

The Bwari Police Division, led by the DPO, later visited the scene and took away the body of the deceased, identified as Chike. The whereabouts of the four kidnapped individuals remain unknown.

This latest incident has left the community in a state of shock and fear, with residents calling for increased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

The kidnapping and killing have sparked widespread condemnation and outrage from residents, who are demanding urgent action from the authorities to address the growing insecurity in the area.

The Bwari Area Council Chairman, has expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and assured residents that the council is working closely with security agencies to ensure the safe release of the kidnapped victims.

The FCT Police Command has also issued a statement, confirming the incident and promising to leave no stone unturned in investigating the matter and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

As the search for the kidnapped victims continues, residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

This incident is the latest in a series of kidnapping and armed robbery attacks in the Bwari area, which has raised concerns about the safety and security of residents in the nation’s capital.
