Governor Mutfwang deploys Ashoms to oversee Tourism Ministry after suspension of Hon. Jamila Tukur
The Plateau State Commissioner of Information and Communication Hon. Musa Ashoms has been added with more responsibilities by Governor Caleb Mutfwang to oversee the Ministry of Tourism following the suspension of Hon. Jamila Tukur.
It would be recalled that Plateau State Governor had suspended the Former Commissioner of Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, and also Budget and Planning on the August, 20 2024, Leaving the office vacant.
Hon. Musa Ashoms while taken over as the interim Commissioner of the Ministry of Tourism on Thursday in Jos pledge a strategic move to reinvigorate the tourism sector.
Ashoms emphasized the critical role tourism plays in driving development and pledged to implement robust policies to transform the sector.
He acknowledged the vast potential of Plateau State’s tourism industry and vowed to work collaboratively with the Ministry’s staff to harness this potential.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality, Mr. Jacob Keng, welcomed Ashoms and urged him to prioritize the completion of the Luka Bentu indoor theater, a project expected to boost revenue generation for the State.
Keng assured Ashoms of the staff’s support, ensuring his success in the new role.
He described Ashoms appointment as a strategic move to revitalize the tourism sector and drive economic growth in Plateau State.
According to him with Hon. Ashoms wealth of experience in information and communication is poised to bring a fresh perspective to the Ministry, leveraging his expertise to promote Plateau State’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.
