NUJ Plateau State Council unveils packed programme for 2024 press week
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council, has announced a comprehensive schedule of activities for its 2024 Press Week, set to take place from September 9th to 15th, 2024.
This year’s edition promises to be a unique celebration of journalism, community service, and cultural exchange.
The 2024 Press Committee Chairman Pam Musa and Secretary Hosea Nyamlong, in a Statement signed and issued on Monday in Jos called on all Journalists in the state to actively participate in the various activities, ensuring a successful Press Week celebration.
The week-long festivities will commence on Monday, September 9th, with a Community Service event at the Jos City Center, where journalists will give back to the society through various activities.
This will be followed by a health talk and free medical checkup for members and their families on Tuesday, September 10, emphasizing the importance of health and wellness in the journalism profession.
On Wednesday, September 11, a friendly football match between journalists and staff of Plateau United Football Club will take place at the New Jos Stadium, promoting camaraderie and teamwork among professionals.
The grand finale, scheduled for Thursday, September 12, at Patrick’s Hall, Crispan Hotel Jos, will feature a keynote address, awards, and recognition of contributors to the profession.
Other activities lined up for the week include a Juma’at prayer on Friday, September 13, the first-ever Plateau NUJ Cultural Night on September 14, and a Thanksgiving service on Sunday, September 15.
This year’s Press Week promises to be an exciting and enriching experience, promoting unity, professionalism, and community engagement among journalists and the public.
