BREAKING: Supreme Court declares Duoye Diri winner of Bayelsa governorship election

The panel of five Supreme Court justices on Friday declared Duoye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP winner of Bayelsa State Governorship Election.

Panelist commenced sitting at exactly 2.00pm with Bayelsa election list as first to be adjudicated.

Bayelsa election was contentious between the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The governorship candidate for the APC, Timipreye Sylva expressed dissatisfaction when the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declared Duoye Diri of PDP winner, citing electoral irregularities and rigging.
