NCC, NBC collaborate to facilitate digital broadcasting in Nigeria
The Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, NBC and the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC have expressed their willingness to collaborate towards modernizing and facilitating a smooth transition to digital broadcasting in Nigeria.
The two regulatory agencies stated this during a joint press conference in Abuja on Thursday, noting that the partnership underscores the importance of digital broadcasting in future.
The Director General of NBC, Charles Ebuebu described the collaboration between the two agencies as strategic targeted at harnessing the full potentials of the Digital Switch Over, DSO initiative.
He revealed that financial resources has been allocated to the laudable project, promising that it would be judiciously expended in a manner that will impact on the project.
According to him, the partnership has the mandate to, not only upgrade the technology, but to transform the digital switch into a forceful media landscape with its socio-economic development, adding the project was expected to generate numerous job opportunities, stimulate economic growth, and broaden the horizons of the broadcasting industry.
Moreover, Ebuebu pointed out that the introduction of accurate and comprehensive audience measurement will enhance marketing strategies and elevate content quality across platforms.
“Together, we are paving the way for a brighter future where every Nigerian can enjoy superior broadcast quality, enriched educational content, and expanded avenues for creativity and innovation,” he stated, highlighting the promising prospects of this collaborative endeavor.”
