The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Development Control, Architect Stanley Buba has broken silence saying, the tenure of Nasarawa Urban Development Board Managing Director, TPL, Adamu Sule has since expired.

Change of Name

He made the revelation when he appeared before the lawmakers at plenary of the State House of Assembly on Wednesday.

CAPITAL POST reports that the Special Adviser to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Urban Development Board, Hon. Stanley Buba and the Managing Director, Adamu Sule have been locked in the agency’s leadership wranglings.

The House of Assembly has however, intervened without success, but the situation deepened when Hon. Stanley insisted that he was only answerable to the governor and no one else.

During a cross examination at Wednesday’s encounter, as lawmakers asked him questions bordering on who has the powers to grant approval between him and the MD of Urban Development Board in terms of approvals, he said: “I did not undermine your powers, however, I want to let out the records straight for the future guidance that as SSA, I’m totally answerable to the Governor and work with recommendation for any approval. He told the Lawmakers.

The lawmakers insisted why was he granting approvals, which is the schedule of the MD to do as enshrined in the law establishing the NUDB, he replayed the law that permitted him to give approvals.

He stood his ground that after the expiration of the tenure of TPL, Adamu Sule in 2017, the past administration did not extend or renewed his appointment as MD of the board.

“Even when Governor Abdullahi Sule came on board precisely on May 29, 2019 there was no such renewal of appointment.’

The former chairman of Akwanga Local Government Council, in further explanation said, lawmakers are not being fair to him by restricting his activities to the western zone of the state.

He added that, “the lawmakers assigned the Managing Director to operate from both Northern and the Southern zone which includes the board headquarters in Lafia”, saying that it’s not fair.
