“One of the major sponsor of #EndBadGovernance protest arrested” – Police

The Police have revealed that one of the major sponsors of #EndBadGovernance sponsors has been arrested.
They gave the name as one Bashir Hadejia who the Police claimed that he confessed to sponsoring large number of youths to protest across northern Nigeria.

CAPITAL POST recalled that #Hunder/EndBadGovernance protest in some northern Nigeria became deadly as youths wreak carnage and burnt homes and residential houses of politicians.

The police sources on Wednesday that Bashir Hadejia in the course of interrogation confessed to have mobilized the attack on Jigawa state APC headquarters.

The suspect was arrested by police operatives following intelligence reports on smuggling large catches of weapons along with large bars of gold believed to have been stolen from the Central Bank of Libya.

According to the Police, Hadejia who hailed from Jigawa State in the North Western Nigeria is into money laundering and other transnational heinous crimes, but was arrested penultimate week after intelligence report on him.

He was found with incriminating documents which the Police said, he is working with high profile individuals and particularly, he has an international passport of the Republic of Vanuatu, which will expire on the 14th of September, 2030.

Hadejia was also accused of being involved in aiding, coordinating terrorism and other forms of criminality in some northern states along with his sponsors.

During the investigation, a video showing the suspect displaying bars of gold carrying Gaddafi’s statue worth one tone believed to have been stolen from the Libyan Central Bank was also seen.

The suspect is said to be opening up to name his alleged sponsors and other allies, including a former director of the Department of State Security Service, DSS.
