Shun social vices, Plateau Gov’t urges youths
In a bid to mark International Youth Day, the Special Adviser to Plateau Governor on Youth Affairs, Hon. Hitler Pwajok, has urged youths to steer clear of social vices and embrace the state government’s numerous youth empowerment initiatives to better their lives.
Pwajok, while interacting with newsmen, emphasized the devastating effects of social vices on young people’s lives and encouraged Plateau youths to avoid them.
He highlighted the state government’s efforts to bring youths together, forge a common cause, and partner with the government to achieve unity and peace.
The special adviser appealed to youths to support Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s ambition to make Plateau one of Nigeria’s most economically viable states.
He noted that the Plateau Government has created a conducive atmosphere for youth to excel, particularly in agriculture and information and communication technologies.
Pwajok revealed that the state government has made land and inputs available for youths interested in farming, citing the Plateau Farm Project as an example. The project, initiated at Barc Farms, aims to introduce youths to mechanized farming. Additionally, an ICT hub for Plateau is being established to harness the technological inclination of youths aged 18-32, making them productive for the state.
The special adviser assured that the state government, under Governor Mutfwang’s leadership, is committed to initiating policies and plans to improve the lives of Plateau youths.
He encouraged youths to take advantage of these opportunities to build a brighter future.
