Gov. Idris encourages Muslims to build more Islamic schools
The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has appealed to well-to-do Muslims to build more Islamic schools to enable the Muslim Ummah perfectly learn their religion.
He made the plea while laying the foundation of an Islamic school at Suru in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Friday.
The school construction which is being sponsored by Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Suru (A.I. Suru) would be named after late Shirk Abubakar Giro Argungu.
The governor described the gesture as a very good idea and a motivational factor towards boosting the morale of people to lean Islamic knowledge.
“I want to appeal to wealthy individuals in the society to emulate the good gesture of A. I. Suru to enable Muslim Ummah learn about their religion.”
He also called on people of Suru to support what A. I. Suru is doing for the benefit of the entire community.
The Governor also commissioned a Juma’at Mosque built by Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Susu (A. I. Suru) at Suru.
He equally visited a General Hospital Suru which was rennovated by the community and promised his administration’s readiness to support the Hospital to complement the efforts of the community.
Gov. Idris commended the efforts of the community in renovating the Hospital headed and supported by A. I. Suru, Hon Bello Kaoje and others, urged them to sustain the tempo.
He said that people should wake up in doing projects to assist themselves instead of waiting for government to do everything for them.
Those in attendance are the Secretary to the Kebbi State Government Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Head of Service Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena, Commissioners for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair Alhaji Garba Umar Dutsinmari, and other Commissioners, Rector Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin-Kebbi Dr Usman Tunga, Hon. Bello Kaoje Member Federal House of Representatives, Accountant General Alhaji Amirul Ballo Zabarimauwa, and others.
