Police on Thursday commenced probe on the circumstances surrounding the killing popular crossdresser ‘Abuja Area Mama’, whose body was dumped at a public space in the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday morning.
Social media was earlier in the day awashed with news of the death of the socialite with so much concerns by his fans.
The FCT Police Command through its official spokesperson, Josephine Adeh confirmed the death of in a statement which she made available to journalists on Thursday in Abuja.
The statement said, his corpse was found along Katampe – Mabushi expressway which was certified dead by the Maitama District Hospital.
The Police said, they began manhunt after receiving a distress call by the Command Control Room on 08/08/2024 at about 07:40 AM, that an unidentified lady was seen lying motionless along Katampe – Mabushi express way, a team of detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the individual was a man fully dressed in female clothing with no means of identification on him. He was immediately taken to Maitama District Hospital where Doctors on duty confirmed him dead.
“The Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, has promptly ordered a thorough and discreet investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding his death. Updates on this matter will be communicated in due course.”
