FG identifies sponsors of #EndBadGovernance, blocks accounts, places them on watchlist
The Federal Government of Nigeria has identified sponsors of #Hunger/EndBadGovernance protest that rocked the nation since Tuesday last week.
This was made possible through the Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS) and their bank accounts have been frozen with the affected individuals placed on watchlist.
Comptroller-General of NIS, Kemi Nandap, who disclosed this at Defence Headquarters, Abuja on Tuesday, stating that some of them who are in the Diaspora would be arrested as soon as they come into the country.
The NIS was at the Defence Headquarteers to participate in a strategic security meeting convened by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa.
Amid the ongoing protest that resulted to carnage and arson in some States of the Federation, especially in Kaduna and Kano, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa participated in the National Security Council meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Monday after which he warned those calling for coup.
On Tuesday, it was gathered that Defence Chief and other heads of intelligence agencies as well as other heads of para-military agencies were in a closed-door with a view to implementing the crackdown order given by President Bola Tinubu.
After the meeting, the NIS boss said, “We have diaspora sponsors, they are on our watchlist. They are watchlisted, any attempt they make to come into the country, we’ll be notified and they will be picked up and handed to appropriate authority.”
She also disclosed that a large number of officers of NIS have been deployed to borders on land and airports with a view to implement the order of President Tinubu.
