A political economist cum elder state 0man, Dr Ibrahim Waziri has called on President Ahmed Bola Tinubu not to shy away from the demands and issues being raised by Nigerian Youths in order to avert the August first national strike.

The elder state man made this call in his residence in Bauchi while speaking with journalists who were on visit to the State on Friday.

According to Dr Waziri, “the President has demonstrated before, he is a listening leader, he should likewise do same now by calling on the youth leaders for round table dialogue that will avert their protest.”

Asked how can the President dialogue hence the protesters’ leaders are faceless, Dr Waziti said, “if government want to know the leaders, it doesn’t take them anything as even the Department of State security (DSS) had already given a hint to the leaders in their press release statement.”

Dr Warizi said, Nigerian situation is precarious at the moment as people are suffering, to eat or feeding is even difficult and even some persons are said to be dying of starvation and he want the Federal and state governments to live up to the progressive manifesto of their various party during their campaigns.

Dr Waziri claimed, Nigeria has no business in food inflation if the government had done the necessary things by mechanization of Agriculture in at least each state of the region as the country is blessed with arable land across the whole regions.

He said, President Tinubu has showed commitment to better the country but some of his policies need to be backup with urgent actions that will help the nation in a short term.

The Bauchi trained US Political economist believed Nigeria can operate smoothly in regional governance as the federal structure at the moment doesn’t support the diverse interest of the regions which had led to wastage of funds and corruption all over the places.
