CAN, Para-Mallam Peace Foundation pay tribute to late Imam of Jos Central, Sheikh Lawal Adam Abubakar

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Plateau State Chapter and the Gideon & Funmi Para-Mallam Peace Foundation has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Sheikh Lawal Adam Abubakar, the revered Chief Imam of Jos.

The CAN Chairman Very Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo and President Gideon and Fumi Para malam Peace Foundation Revd Dr. Gideon Para-Mallam in their separate condolences on Wednesday at the family of the late chief Imam of Jos describing him as a peacemaker and humble leader who has left an indelible mark on the lives of citizens in the state.

Change of Name

According to them, the late Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque demonstrated exceptional leadership in preaching peace and unity in the state, earning him the respect and admiration of people across religious and ethnic divides.

The CAN Chairman and Para-Mallam Peace Foundation praised the late Chief Imam’s commitment to promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding, which has contributed significantly to the peaceful coexistence of Christians and Muslims in Plateau State.

They noted that the late Chief Imam’s legacy of peace, humility, and leadership will continue to inspire generations to come, and his impact on the state will never be forgotten.

They prayed that Allah grant Sheikh Lawal Adam Abubakar eternal peace and provide the family with strength and comfort during this period of grief.

The tribute is a testament to the late Chief Imam’s remarkable life and service to the people of Plateau State, and his contributions to promoting peace, unity, and understanding among all Nigerians.

While Responding on behalf of the family during the Condolences visit , Deputy Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque shiek Nasir Falaki appreciate both CAN and Gideon, Fumi Para-Mallam Peace Foundation for the condolence message, saying the visit is a testament to the harmonious relationship between Christians and Muslims in Plateau State, and the respect that exists between the two faiths.

He said late Sheikh Lawal A. Abubakar was a prominent religious leader in the state, and his passing has left a great void in the community.
