The Director General, Committee of Youths on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS), Chief Obinna Nwaka has emphasized the significance of skills acquisition for young graduates to combat the rising unemployment rate in the country.
Nwaka who is an advocate for youth empowerment made the statement on Sunday, during a get-together to celebrate with the youth especially the volunteers of CYMS in Abuja.

The CYMS boss also lamented the unsuitable situation
promising young individuals have to face the unfavourable system of government in the country.
“The system of the government has not been favourable enough for young people to thrive. Young people are into Tech but the power supply is not favourable for some of our industries especially for those who are into manufacturing.
“Young people should not solely depend on white collar jobs. Young people are embedded with one talent or the other. You must discover those talents. Some of us have leadership talents, some have skill acquisition talents. When you discover it as a young person, build and develop on it, you will be self reliant in the society and contribute your own quota to to national development”, he stressed.
Special Assistant to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Abubakar Barde, charged Nigerian youths to change the narrative and build a better future for the country.
In his words, “I am calling on young people to realise and achieve their potentials, be self reliant and also have a united front that can speak the truth, ask the right questions and demand the right answers”.
Speaking on NFF, he said the Super Eagles and other national teams are well positioned to win trophies.
“We are doing alot to see that all these things are achieved and very soon by the grace of God we will qualify for the World Cup and for the AFCON”, he added.
