Christ Embassy Church Headquarters located in the heart of Oregun area of Ikeja Lagos guts fire on Sunday.
The incident has been reported across social media with pictorial of billows of smoke, suggesting that the fire could not be put off immediately before much damage is done to the auditorium of the Church housing thousands of congregants.
According to report, fire has gone wild on the building before officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service could be deployed to the scene.
A video of the incident also trended in the early hours of Sunday when service was expected to commence.
Sharing a video from the scene, a netizen identified as Chief_Augustin1 tweeted, “Christ Embassy Church on Billings Way, Oregun, is on fire.
“Serious fire is raging, and men of the Lagos State Fire Service are working hard to put it off. Thank God service hasn’t commenced fully.”
