Kidnapped Onu Igala Momosani in Anambra freed
The Onu Igala in Anambra State, Chief Muhammed Momosani who was kidnapped by the unknown gunmen while on his way to Igala land for Eid-el-Kabir celebration has been freed.
CAPITAL POST gathered that he was attacked and kidnapped at Adani in Enugu North Senatorial District.
The attackers reportedly riddled his vehicle in which he was traveling with his family, but the driver unfortunately lost his life due to bullet wounds.
The source said, his abductors demanded for a ransom of N48 million, but later prune down their demand, until an undisclosed amount was paid to secure his release within the week.
“The deadly attack claimed the life of his driver one Musa who was shot dead instantly while the Chief, his wife and 3 children who sustained various degree of injuries were all taken away to the forest.
“The negotiation started with demand for N48 milliin and was later reduced and finally some millions was paid to secure their release.”
The Adani area of Enugu State has become a hot spot for kidnappers as another senior member of Igala community resident in Anambra was earlier kidnapped with his car riddled with bullets.
The victim who want his name undisclosed however escaped by the whiskers, as he abandoned the vehicle and ran into the bush.
His vehicle was later recovered with the help of military officers on patrol.
