Recruitment: “We have no problem with Police Service Commission” – IGP Egbetokun

Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun says, Nigeria Police has no problem with Police Service Commission in the ongoing recruitment into Nigeria Police but only the right thing be done.

Change of Name

According to IGP Egbetokun, though Court ruled in favour of the Commission but Police will not fold their hand and allow people not needed by the police into the force.

He made the call on Friday in Abuja in a meeting with all the Senior police officers across the country.

IGP has pledged that the Nigeria Police Force under his watch will be the Police that will serve Nigeria with reality.

IGP give account of his stewardship as he clocks one year in office which include the recent professionalism display by police in labour protest, strategic plan for crime prevention and protection of life and properties.

He said police will collaborate with Nigeria Financial Intelligence Units (NFIU) to prevent and investigate the offenders and prosecute them, while he urged all Nigeria police to embrace the call while performing their duties.

He thanked President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for approving April 7th every year as national police day, ensuring that the Nigeria police will ensure a safety environment for all citizens.

He assured the people of Edo and Ondo states of police support to INEC for free and fair of the forth coming election in the State.

He further gave clarification of the role of police in crisis in River State, insisting that they will protect life and properties in the state.

Adding that despite the case been in Court, the police will protect Secretariat till the court case is vacated, the police will continue to protect the Secretariats..

He urged all Nigerians to support the police to protect life and properties.
