Lafia LG boss constructs bridge abandoned for decades as community offer prayers

There is a strong indication that a relationship between, Lafia Local Government Chairman, Comrade, Aminu Mu’azu Maifata and his people is cordial and worth of emulation by elective officials at all levels.

This has come to the fore when the council boss constructed a bridge and culvert which was abandoned for many years by the previous administration in the locality.


CAPITAL POST’s investigation confirmed that before now people living around Kilema behind Lukuman Primary school through Dan Guda area linked to Kofan Makama have no access road to their respective homes.

Investigation further shown that many people, houses and properties worth millions of naira were lost as a result of non accessibility of water ways in those areas.

Speaking to our correspondent an 80 year old Mallam Abdulkadir Immarana expressed gratitude to, Maifata for taken the pain to alleviate the pain they have passed through for many decades.

“We are short of word to express our unreserved appreciation to the council chairman for this laudable project executed.

“This has demonstrated that he is a leader that have his people at heart and their problem became his personal problem. He stated.

Also Mr. Frank Emmanuel, a business man, applauded the council boss for coming to their aid, saying that the community would continue to remain indebted to Maifata.

“We have concluded arrangement to offer a special prayers for our chairman for God’s protection against all his visible and invisible enemies..”

However, in his quest to ensured primary school pupils receives lesson in a conducive atmosphere, Lafia local government chairman, Maifata has renovated and provided chairs and desk to more than 150 schools across the locality.

While in an interview, Maifata told this paper that there is no gain for an elected office holder in neglecting the plight of their electorate for no course.

“Even before I became the chairman of Lafia local government, each time I passed through this area, it is disturbing seeing this community suffering especially during rainy seasons; that is why as chairman I took it upon myself to construct the bridge, renovation and provision of desk to some schools to curb their problems.

“The project and programmes we embarked is in line with Governor Abdullahi Sule and APC led administration in providing basic and social ammenites to people at the grassroot level.

Maifata who promised to do more for his electorate through the provision of infrastructure, physical and human development.

He called on people of the state to support the government of Sule to enable him succeed in his tireless efforts to transform and industrialize the State for a better tomorrow.
