The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has resolved the lingering leadership crisis which in the state Urban Development Board (NUDB) involving the board’s Managing Director (MD), Adamu Sule- Mohammed and Arc Stanley Buba, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Gov. Abdullahi Sule on Development Control.
The house chairman committee on NUDB, Suleiman Azara told both parties that their discussion is in the overall interest of peace, unity and development of the state.
He stated this during a conflict resolution meeting with the management of the board and the SSA held at the Assembly complex in Lafia.
Suleiman noted with dismay that the leadership crisis between the two senior officers of the board will not augur well for the development, Governor, Abdullahi Sule and the people, appealing that they maintained the status quo.
“This meeting was a follow up of our last meetings that we met and interacted with both of you to know the actual causes of the problem in the board.
“As a House, we must take a positive decision for peace to reign and for the development of the board.
“If we did not do it, posterity will judge us and we are doing this for the benefit of all.
“The law establishing NUDB in the state is clear, the MD is the head of the board.
“In the interest of peace, the SSA should take charge of the board’s zonal office in Karu and all approval in the zonal offices should be granted by the MD.
“Anybody found wanting in our decision, we are going to take action. We want peace to reign in the board, ” he said.
Suleiman gave the assurance as committee on NUDB to continue to provide all what it takes for the board to succeed in its activities.
CAPITAL POST reports that some of the committee members, who spoke during the meeting stressed the need for adequate cooperation between the two government officials for the development of the board and the state at large.
Our correspondent also reports that the meeting was attended by SSA on development control, Arc Stanley Buba as well as Adamu Sule- Mohammed, the board’s MD include other top Management staff of the board.
