NCC tells telecom users what to do to block hackers

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, the telecom regulatory agency in Nigeria has advised subscribers of telecommunications to apply strong passwords to block unauthorized access to their mobile devices.

The regulatory agency made this known on its official facebook pages, stating that cyber security is one among challenges confronting the nation’s digital space which the NCC believes with effort of subscribers on their own devices, it will reduce threats.

Meanwhile, the NCC said, government will continue to do its best in collaboration with other relevant agencies in effectively checking the menace.

The NCC shared a recent update, focusing on how cyber-attacks could be prevented, emphasizing the importance of creating strong passwords to safeguard online accounts.

The Commission urged subscribers to ensure that they have a password to log in securely.
The NCC wrote on its official Facebook page, “Protect your online accounts (such as banks and digital media) by using strong and complex passwords.”

It believes that by opting for strong passwords, individuals could defend themselves against cyber-attacks.
