BREAKING: Emefiele meets bail condition, released
The embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele has met bail condition and has been granted bail on Friday.
He is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and was arraigned at the Lagos High Court, Ikeja.
The trial judge ordered for his detention in the custody of the EFCC having unable to meet bail condition on Monday after pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Justice Rahman Oshodi presided over the bail application, setting the bail amount at N50 million with two sureties of similar sum.
Shortly after bail was granted, the trial commenced, with the EFCC calling its first prosecution witness.
