Late Mohammed Idris: Kogi East Senator, Echocho mourns ex-governor’s son

Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District, Jibrin Isah Echocho on Wednesday expressed shock over the sudden demise of Hon. Mohammed Idris, the son of the former governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris.

CAPITAL POST reported earlier on Wednesday that Mohammed who was hale and hearty when he went for Eid el-fitr prayer ground earlier in the day returned home and suddenly took ill and died in residence in Abuja.

Change of Name

Echocho who is the Senate Committee Chairman on Customs, Excise and Tariffs, said the demise of Mohammed, a former member of the House of Representatives in the 7th National Assembly was shocking that he died in his prime.

Late Muhammed represented Omala, Ankpa and Olamaboro Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

In a statement issued by special adviser on media to the senator, Mikail Ibrahim conveying a message of condolence addressed to the former Governor, Echocho said he is greatly pained by the death of Mohammed.

“On behalf of myself and my family, I wish to express our deep condolences over the death of your son. I am pained over this death that has cut short the life of a young Nigerian, full of hope and promise for the future of this country. We will surely miss him.”

He said the death of Mohammad has created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill as he urged the family he left behind to take solace in the fact that the late Alh Mohammad lived a life worthy of emulation and was a pride to his parents.

The lawmaker prayed that Allah SWT would grant the deceased eternal rest and the immediate family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
