Ododo’s birthday affidavit not from us, FCT Court tells Tribunal
The ongoing Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal between Muritala Yakubu Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, SDP and Ododo Ahmed Usman, of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC on Thursday exposed a forged birthday affidavit which the defendant claimed to have gotten as the Federal Capitral Territory High Court told the Tribunal that the document was fake.
The FCT High Court representative was at the Tribunal to identify and attest to the document which was a subject of litigation, but was declared ‘forged and faked’ as there was no record of the affidavit in Court Registry.
This is even as Ododo’s declaration of age was issued on 2nd August, 2003, which is a non-working day, a development that gave him out for suspicion by the prosecuting lawyers.
The SDP governorship candidate is seeking the nullification of the Kogi State election conducted on 11th November, 2023 that was declared in favour of Ododo by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, citing irregularities, over-voting and outright rigging.
However, at the resumed proceeding on Thursday, an FCT High Court witness appeared to confirm the status of the certificate, having introduced himself as Danmusa Williams who is a Commissioner for Oath.
