NSCDC vows to protect critical assets in Niger
The Agro Ranger Squad of the Niger State Command of Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) will partner with the Governor Umar Mohammed Bago Agro Allied investment in the state, the state commandant of the NSCDC Mr. Joachin Okafor has assured.
He stated that the Agro Range Squad of the Corps was established in 2016 through the initiative of Federal Ministry Agriculture and the Federal Ministry of Interior in ensuring the security and safeguarding as well as the protection of Agro Allied investment, farmland, farmers herders and other agriculture related investment in the country.
In a press statement issued by the state commandant through the command spokesman, Mr Abubakar Mohammad Muti DSC to the official visit of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for the commissioning of the Niger State Goverment Own Multi billion naira Agro Processing zone airport in Minna.
According to the statement, inline with the Commandant General of the Corps, the vision of training and retraining of the operatives of the Agro rangers squad of the NSCDC will not be compromised towards actualizing the protection of Agro allied investments across the country, assuring that the Niger State Command of the Agro rangers will leave no stone unturned in the protection of Agro allied investments in the state.
Commandant Joachim Okafor maintained that officers and men of the Agro rangers squad of the command were fully trained to perform effectively in the protection of the Agro allied processing project sited in Niger State, assuring that the state command of the NSCDC will partner with the state government in safeguarding the project in the state.
While assuring the government and people of Niger State of the Command preparedness to protect and safeguard the critical national assets and infrastructure in Niger State commandant, Okafor warned vandals and other criminally minded elements in the state to relocate from Niger State “or the full wrath of the command will be visited on them”.
He implored law abiding individuals in the state to go about their legitimate business with the assurance of their safety at all times and called on traditional and community leaders in the state to always monitor the movement of strange faces in their community for prompt action.
Meanwhile, a total of one thousand officers and men of the NSCDC will be deployed to the Minna Ago Allied Processing Investment zone ahead of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu official commissioning of the project on Monday.
Commandant Joachim Okafor who disclosed this explained that among them include plain clothes operatives and some undercover operatives will be placed in strategic location to ensure hitch free commissioning of the project.
