Kebbi Federal lawmaker, Sununu donates drugs for pregnant women in constituency hospitals
Member representing Yauri/Ngaski/Shanga Federal Constituency of Kebbi State, Hon. Yusuf Tanko Sununu has donated drugs for treatment of pregnant women worth thousands of naira.
The drugs which were over 200 cartons was presented to the General Hospitals in the lawmaker’s Constituency in other to help the pregnant women deliver safely.
The lawmaker who is also the Chairman House Committee on Health Services said the drugs will help the pregnant women who undergo Caesarean operation deliver safely without complication.
Hon. Sununu who made the donations in each of the General Hospitals representing his constituency, said, it will assist pregnant women deliver safely.
In a short presentation at Yauri General Hospital, the lawmaker said the donation was meant to save lives of the pregnant women who go through Caesarean section before delivery.
He explained that with the drugs, the child and the mother would be safe represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Umar Abdullah-Ngaski.
Sununu said “the drugs is for those who cannot deliver on their own.
“The drugs are mostly for those women who undergoes surgery
during delivery, and as such, all arrangements is made for successful operation if the need arises.” Sununu Stated.
Adding that the two general hospitals in Ngaski and Shanga will also benefit from the gesture, promising to sustain it availability.
The lawmaker within his one year has conducted eye test medical surgery for thousands of patients in his constituency, and has also granted scholarships to 15 students studying in different science courses at various health institutions across the states in other to complement the state government’s efforts.
Commenting, the Chairman of Yauri Local Government Council Alhaji Bala Mohammed commended the
lawmaker for the gesture and advise the doctors to make it available to the pregnant women in other to save lives.
