Plateau governor reopens Chapel of Grace at Government House

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has reopened the Chapel of Grace at the Old Government House in Jos.

The Chapel was rededicated, saying, it would be a place of prayer for the unity and prosperity of the state and the nation.
He was accompanied by his wife, Barr. Helen Mutfwang, and the Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo, at the ceremony held at the Old Government House Rayfield, Jos, while he urged the citizens to love one another, seek peace and unity in Christ, and pray for the common good of Plateau and Nigeria.

Change of Name

He expressed his desire to leave behind a united and prosperous Plateau, where God would reign and guide the affairs of the state.
He also prayed for the success of Plateau sons and daughters serving in various capacities at the state, national, and international levels. He said his government would continue to celebrate and support them.

The Guest Preacher, Brother Gbile Akanni, who read from Psalms 132:1-8, said the chapel would be a symbol of unity, where Plateau citizens would worship God without denominational barriers.

He said God’s desire was to make Plateau His dwelling place, and advised the cabinet members, top government officials, and the people of Plateau State to find a place for God in their hearts for the smooth running and success of the current administration.
President of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) and National Vice President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Dr. Panya Baba, consecrated and commissioned the new Chaplain, Rev. Benjamin A. Nadabo, and urged him to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ.

Revd Dr Gideon Para-Mallam, who gave the significance of the gathering, read the core values of the Chapel of Grace. They are: Prayer and God’s word; Christ’s love and compassion; Accountability and integrity; True compassion and holistic missions; Excellence; Authentic and monitoring leadership; Unity of faith, forgiveness and reconciliation.

COCIN President, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo, Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Plateau State, Rev. Dunka Gomwalk, and National Vice President of PFN North Central, Prophet Isa El-Buba, all offered special prayers for Plateau and Nigeria.

Goodwill messages were received from the CAN Chairman Plateau State, Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo, former Governors of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah David Jang, Sen. Joshua Chibi Dariye, and the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba. They all encouraged the citizens to pray and support Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for the success of the state.

The new Chaplain, Chapel of Grace, Government House Jos, Rev. Benjamin A. Nadabo, asked for the support of the citizens to run the chapel to the glory of God. He said Sunday services would hold every Sunday by 4:00-6:00pm, while prayer and Bible study meetings would hold Wednesdays 8:00-9:00am, and prayer and fasting would hold every last Friday of each month.
