Senator Oseni moves for establish ment of Nigeria Steel University, Ajaokuta
Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial district, Oseni Yakubu on Wednesday presented a bill for establishment of Nigeria Steel University, Ajaokuta in Kogi State.
The bill which passed first reading in the Senate would be re-presented at a later date for second reading in line with the parliamentary traditions.
The establishment of the proposed University was expected to address the metallurgical and technological inadequacy inherent in the nation’s Steel industry.
The proposed University will be a special one and was expected to concentrate on its core mandate of training in the fields of metallurgy and Steel technology.
The bill would however, be subjected to the public opinion which determines the level of its merits or not, at the public  Committee hearings.
Senator Oseni is a first timer to the Nigerian Senate on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
