Muri vs Ododo: Tribunal adjourns sitting till Monday

The Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal has adjourned sitting till Monday 11th March, 2024 after brief argument today, 4th March, 2024.

Counsel to the petitioner, Okutepa SAN moved for the Court proceeding, but Kanu Agabi, SAN the counsel to Ododo Usman Ahmed drew the attention of the Tribunal to the court of Appeal judgment and sought attention of the Court if it was appropriate for the Tribunal to continue with the tendering of BIVARS and other materials used in the conduct of the 2023 Kogi governorship election.

Change of Name

Agabi request was at the backdrop of Appeal Court judgement in favour of the APC over inspection of election materials and BIVARS which were tendered as evidence by the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

The 2nd and 3rd respondents rely on the submission of the 1st respondent.

After arguments of both Counsels to go on with the case or not as scheduled, the Tribunal Chairman directed parties to submit the authority cited in support or against the orders of Appeal Court and adjourned the case to Monday 11th March, 2024 for the continuation of the hearing.
