Minna magistrate court convicted two without option
The Minna Senior Magistrate Court No 7 has sentenced two persons to a total of 18 months imprisonment with hard labour and without an option of fine.
They were convicted by the senior Magistrate, Mrs Debora Lami Sule on three count charge which bothered on criminal conspiracy, criminal intimidation and anonymous communication and attempt to commit an offence of kidnapping.
According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Aliyu Yakubu, he told the court that the offence is punishable under section 97, 95 and 398 of the penal code law.
The two convicts are, Ibrahim Adamu, Yusuf Audi, while Kabiru Sure now at large were said to have conspired among themselves and called one Bala Saidu on his phone number with your phone line and threatened to kidnap and demanded the ransom of N100 million from him.
“Police detectives swung into action and effected your arrest.
“During police investigation you all confessed to to the offences
when the charge was read to you, by the presiding Senior Magistrate , Mrs Debora Lami Sule, and you all pleaded guilty as charged.
At this point the police prosecutor Inspector Aliyu Yakubu urged the court to convict the suspects by invoking section 157 of the criminal procedure code ( CPC) on them.
While delivering her judgement on them, she sentenced them to a total of 18 months imprisonment each with hard labour without an option of fine.
