BREAKING: Edo Primary: APC sacks Uzodimma, appoints Otu as committee chairman

The All Progressives Congress APC has removed the Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma as chairman of the Edo state Gubernatorial Primary Election Committee.

The party also appointed the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Otu, to head the committee that will oversee the rescheduled primary election slated for tomorrow 22nd February, 2024. The election will produce the party flagbearer for the September 21 governorship election in the state.

The party made the disclosure in a notice signed by its National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu on Wednesday evening.

Uzodinma’s removal comes after he conducted the February 17th, 2024 controversial Edo state primaries that saw the emergence of three governorship aspirants as winners.

However, on Tuesday night, the ruling party’s National Working Committee in its intervention, announced Thursday 24th, November 2024 as the new date for the rescheduled party primary in the state.

Other members of the Primary Election Committee include: Former Osun state deputy governor, Mrs Titilayo Laoye-Tomori; APC’s flagbearer in the Plateau State 2023 governorship election, Nentanwe Yilwatde Goshwe; Hon. Shettima shehu; Umar Musa; Lawan Garba and Rabiu Suleiman who will serve as the Secretary.
