NASC Chairman tasks acting clerk, his team on service delivery

The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) Chairman, Engineer Ahmed Kadi Amshi says the commission is vested with powers to oversee activities of staffers of the Assembly and the Commission.

The Chairman made the revelation during the maiden visit to the Commission by the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Architect Ojo Amos Olatunde and his team.

Engineer Ahmed maintained that in making new appointments, the Commission was guided by the provision of the enabling laws guiding its operations and merit.

He emphasised that the National Assembly Service Commission is watching closely the activities of the service/Assembly to ensure optimum perfomance,

Eng Kadi says the National Assembly is charged with assisting the lawmakers with legislative functions to ease their jobs, while the Commission monitors the staffers of the Commission.

The Chairman asked the new Ag Clerk to the National Assembly to take the welfare of workers, aides through motivation very seriously,so as to enable maximum productivity.

‘The primary aim of the National Assembly is to ensure smooth working relationship through the cooperation of staffs and aides,as the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives has nothing to do with the staffers of the Assembly’.He said

He charged the new Acting Clerk to the National Assembly to explore ways of improving the system to rejig the leadership of the National Assembly.

He solicits for a cordial working relationships between the Commission and the Assembly through synergy of regular visits to the Assembly or the Commission.

Responding through a vote of thanks, the Acting Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, Alhaji Bala Yabani Mohammed commended the chairman and his members for their audience.

He pledged the commitment of the National Assembly through improved services, while soliciting for more cooperation from the Commission and it’s Commissioners through constant dialogue.
