Staff Welfare: NAQS boss promotes over 100 Officers to Assistant Superintendent Quarantine 1

Over 100 officers of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service, NAQS have been promoted to the next rank in their various cadres by the Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service, NAQS Dr. Godwin Sunday Audu.

In a statement which was issued by the Media Communications and Strategy, Mr Akanji Joshua, said, those who were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine I (ASQ I) have been long overdue, hence, the promotion was expected to boost their morale to put in their best into service.

The statement quoted the Quarantine boss to have disclosed the promotion at a maiden meeting with Station and Zonal Coordinators held at the Headquarters in Abuja.

Dr. Audu assured that Human Capital Development will be a priority under his watch and called on the staff to rededicate themselves to the task of repositioning the agency to better service delivery.

He reminded the staff that his administration is an open door policy which will give room for innovative ideas and work accordingly to the Act establishing the Agency with International Standards, which will go a long way to ease doing business in the country.
According to Audu, efforts are being made to adhere to the European Union, EU requirements for exportation of products, saying that the development will no doubt avert imminent rejection of our products to EU Countries.

The NAQS boss also promised to look into the challenge from different Zones and the state of infrastructures and operational tools in order to ease their working condition.

He also stressed the importance of fostering stronger relationships with sister bodies and stakeholders, and urged Zonal and Station Coordinators to follow suit, emphasizing his belief in unity.

Dr.Audu announced the establishment of the Operations and Enforcement Department within the agency, which he said will oversee seamless operations, minimize unnecessary seizures, and enforce seizures judiciously.

He, however further assured all the stakeholders that his agency will remain dedicated in promoting ease of doing business and facilitating trade in line with the current government’s “Renewed Hope” Agenda for the Country’s benefit.
