Shock as four kidnappers of two Catholic Priests are members of their Church in Plateau
Kidnappers of the two Catholic priests serving at St. Vincent De Paul perish of Pankshin Diocese in Plateau State, Frs. Kenneth Kanwa and Jude Nwachukwu have been arrested and they are members of the same Catholic Diocese.
The priests were kidnapped on Thursday last week and the development threw the Catholic community into pain which they declared prayers for safe return of the victims.
Shortly after they were kidnapped, the sum of N25 million was demanded as ransom beforer their release.
CAPITAL POST gathered that Security agents immediately swung into action amid promises of payment of ransom and the kidnappers were eventually arrested only to discover that the four of them are all members of the church with the financial secretary of the Church as arrow head.
Reports said, there was no pandemonium when kidnappers came and before the people around them could notice, the two priests have been whisked away to unknown destination.
The incident was confirmed by the Parish priest, St. John Mary Vianney, Kwande, Shendam Diocese, Fr. Cornelius Nweke.
There was no official statement by Plateau State Police Command on the arrest as at Monday, but a source said, the suspects have been detained and are undergoing interrogation.
