Naira Free Fall: Those mocking, celebrating are clowns – Shettima
The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima has blasted at those celebrating Naira’s free fall, saying they are clowns.
He was reacting to celebrating by some elements on X platform and other social media handles as Naira surged to N1,500 to a dollar as at Wednesday, lamenting the depreciation of Naira should have been a concern to all.
Those amusing the currency depreciation, he insisted are clowns and are a disappointment to the nation.
Shettima made this known while speaking at a function in Abuja on Wednesday, January 31.
In the video which was shared by Symfoni, Shettima and which has gone viral, the Vice President maintained: ”It is not only disheartening and disenchanting, but also heartbreaking that yesterday when the Naira culminated to N1,500 to the dollar, instead of us to coagulate into a single force and salvage our nation economy, sadly, some clowns are celebrating on Twitter of an impending implosion of the Nigerian economy.”
