Fubara swears in re-nominated Commissioners, says they were caught in crossfire
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has sworn in nine re-nominated Commissioners on Friday in PortHarcourt.
The governor charged them to uphold the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and strive to do the right things at all times, noting that they were caught in the crossfire and that was why they quit his cabinet in the first place.
“I don’t think I have any charge for you. You have already read your charge to uphold the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I urge you to do the right thing. I can see how heavy your hearts are. I don’t blame you. You were caught in the crossfire.”
The nine Commissioners took their oath of office at the State Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt.
It was recalled that they were re-screened by the Rivers State House of Assembly to be brought into Fubara cabinet as part of peace deal struck by President Bola Tinubu when he intervened in the altercation between the governor and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
CAPITAL POST recalled that the Commissioners who are loyal to Nyesom Wike quit Fubara government amid crisis with their political godfather.
