Kogi group tackles Education Commissioner for claiming to be next SSG in Ododo’s cabinet
Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Wemi Jones has been told to relax his ambition of becoming the Secretary to the State Government, SSG in Ododo Ahmed Usman’s government.
A concerned group from Kogi West Senatorial District said, the Commissioner lack competence and capacity to serve as SSG in the next administration, urging
incoming governor not to appoint somebody that is not capable to manage the position.
In a statement on Tuesday which was issued by the Spokesman of Kogi West Concerned Group for Better Government, Comrade Joseph Taiwo stated that Hon. Wemi Jones does not have the capability and capacity to manage the office.
The reaction of the group was at the backdrop of claims by Wemi Jones that the outgoing Governor Yahaya Bello has anointed him as the SSG in Ododo’s cabinet.
The Commissioner was quoted to have told his supporters that having been the brain behind the Kogi State University that has been established in Kabba, Governor Yahaya Bello has assured of appointing him as the next SSG in the next administration.
Several sources close to the Commissioner disclosed that in a meeting which took place between the Commissioner and his people from Kabba-Bunu, he was said to have assured them that he is the next SSG of the state.
Meanwhile, the group insisted that Qemi Jones claims that he facilitated the establishment of Kogi State University, Kabba was a hoax, recalling that Yahaya Bello promised to do so during his second tenure.
Comrade Taiwo appealed to Bello and Ododo to appoint somebody that is intelligent and focus and also acceptable by the people of his constituency.
